Van break-ins are a genuine, costly risk for trades — tools are expensive to replace and a stolen van's worth of kit can mean days of lost work. A garage at home is more secure than a van, but rarely has the space for materials as well as tools, and doesn't offer the drive-up access a proper storage unit does.

Power tools, ladders, scaffolding boards, tiles, timber, fixtures and fittings, and stock bought in bulk for upcoming jobs all suit our containers. Materials that need to stay dry — plasterboard, timber, electrical fittings — are particularly well suited to a clean, dry unit rather than an outdoor store.

Our 7:00am opening suits trade schedules better than most storage facilities, and 24-hour access can be arranged on request if your work regularly starts before that. Wide access roads mean loading a van with tools and materials is quick, even with a full day's job list ahead of you.

Sole traders often start with a 6ft or 10ft container and move up to a 20ft unit as they take on staff, vehicles or bulkier stock. Monthly rolling contracts mean you're never locked into a size that no longer fits your business.

Different trades tend to accumulate different kinds of stock, and our containers work equally well across them. Builders often store scaffolding boards, timber and bagged materials; electricians keep cable, fittings and testing equipment secure between jobs; plumbers store pipework, fittings and tools; gardeners and landscapers store equipment and bulk materials like turf edging or paving between contracts.

Whatever the trade, the same basics apply — keep materials that hate damp off the floor, group stock by job or client if you're running several projects at once, and use the extra room in a larger container to keep a proper walkway rather than a single wall of boxes you have to unstack every visit.
